Lost our Camera

Yes, we've been very, very, very bad by not writing or posting images since September. I'm really sorry about that but someone "removed" our camera in all the construction chaos. We're waiting until after the holidays to buy one. We did have our good friend Sam come over and take some pictures which we'll post.

Needless to say, renovating the house from Top to Bottom has been a lot of fun - sometimes overwhelming, but not that we're pretty much done, the finishing touches are so much easier.

To date we have:

Gutted the Kitchen and put in a new kitchen.

Ripped up the flooring and put in new Tiles - we bought 953 sq. feet. Once a batch of Tiles is under 1K in volume, the store reduces the price by more than 1/2 in an effort to offload the tiles before they lose their money - all because most people need more than 1,000 sq. feet and aren't interested in smaller batches like ours. We had enough for all public rooms and even about 6-8 leftover!

We've removed all blue paint from the house - now everything's primed, we just have to choose a color and we're done - but therein lies the problem, we cannot agree on a paint color or style. Sandro wants a combo of dark brown and an orangish yellow, I've tried to explain to him that will look like a baby's diaper.

We've taken out the sliding glass doors and replaced with French doors.

We've pulled up all the floor molding and have to replace with up-to-date molding (the old molding was original from 1966!).

We've put in a ton of plants and my favorite part, an entry way fountain. My elephant ears are loving being next to the water that sprays out from the fountain.

And that's about it. We put carpet in all the bedrooms, semi-upgraded 1 bathroom and now we're on to the painting. We still have to chose a dining room chandelier and light over the breakfast table, but those things can wait until after the holiday, into the New Year.

Once painted we can hang the curtain rods with the curtains we had made in Peru and all of our decorations we've collected over the years.

So, I hope that was a vivid description even though we do not have pictures as of yet, they're coming, I promise!
